If you are looking for a mid level camera from a great brand then this Browning Recon Force review might excite you. The Browning Recon Force XR is a red glow infrared trail camera that satisfies the purposes at ease. The Recon Force brand was actually revealed in the year 2013 but Recon Force XR was released in 2014 which was an upgraded version of the original one. As always, our Browning Recon Force Review will start with the features and then there will be pros, cons, FAQs and final verdicts.
Features of Browning Recon Force Camera
As said at the introduction, this is a mid-level camera which means that you should not expect a lot from Recon Force. Being said that, the camera is a good one as it offers lots of features. Let’s have a look at some of the features that this camera has.
The Browning game cameras are famous for their great detection mechanism. This camera proves that statement as it has .67 second trigger time which is more than enough to capture every moment of a moving animal. The range of this camera is around 70 feet which is also reasonable.
The reason that it is considered as a mid range camera is because of the image quality. Though you won’t be able to tell any difference when it comes to taking pictures in daylight, there might be issues if you are taking images at night. The pictures that you take in daylight will always have the perfect combination of color, brightness and clarity but the nighttime images may lack clarity.
The battery life of this camera is standard compared to other Browning game cameras. You will need 8 AA size batteries to run the camera and it can be expected that the camera will run for at least 4 to 6 months with these six batteries. If you are video lover then the time will reduce. The camera doesn’t come with batteries and you will have to buy those separately from your local store.
Now let’s have a look at the benefits that Browning Recon Force XR offers apart from the features:
- Very easy to use
- 100 foot flash range
- Time-lapse viewer software
- .67 second trigger time
- 2 year warranty
The Negative Things
Every product has a few negative aspects in them. Let’s list the ones that this camera has:
- Not great at night
- Has little noise when flashes
Now let’s look at some of the common questions that customers ask before choosing this camera. The first question that people ask is whether the camera water proof or not. Unfortunately, the camera is not water proof but it has been designed to stay fit in all weathers. The battery compartment is directly attached to the camera and that is the reason that why Browning couldn’t make this model waterproof.
Another question is that how many images can you take with one set of batteries using this camera? The answer is not fixed as there are other things involved such as video capturing, duration and etc. Generally, you can take 300-400 images for 4-6 months with one set of battery using this image.
Overall, this is not a great camera to go for but this is not a bad one either. The camera definitely has its benefits and threats. One of the most important benefits is the great value in terms of cost. You can go with this camera and have a successful gaming experience for sure.
